Where did Mayonnaise come from?

Ah! Mayonnaise. Everyone's favourite salad dressing and go to sandwich sauce. This creamy blend of egg yolks, vinegar, oil, and seasonings has been a staple for millions of people for centuries now. Mayonnaise works like magic. It can make a moody kid enjoy a boring cucumber sandwich, and can make a satiated man eat more french fries. Mayonnaise is a popular sauce which can be recognized by its signature white colour and thick texture and is almost always offered in restaurants as a flavour enhancer. But where did this tangy sauce come from? Culinary experts and researchers are still unclear about the definitive point of origin, but it boils down to one of two possible origins - France or Spain.
